Dr. Saras Chung is Executive Director at SkipNV in St. Louis, MO. SkipNV is an independent strategy tank that co-designs system-level strategies with children, parents, educators, nonprofit organizations, and foundations to enhance educational equity for students growing up in socio-economically challenged communities. Her research interests include adolescent emotional development in academic contexts and developing school-based supports using system dynamics and the feedback perspective. Dr. Chung also serves on the instructional team for the lab’s course offerings in system dynamics and community-based system dynamics/group model building. Her practice experience includes a decade of work in a variety of youth settings, including a behavioral health hospital and school serving children and adolescents and Wyman, a national youth development organization based in St. Louis that delivers school-based positive youth development programming across the nation. Dr. Chung’s attained a Ph.D and masters degree in social work from Washington University’s George Warren Brown School of Social Work and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
