Jean- Francois Trani, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at the Brown School Washington University in St. Louis. He received his PhD from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, France, and his interests include mental health, disabilities in low-income countries, particularly in conflict and post conflict regions of the world. Dr. Trani engages with the SSDL to develop group model building applications abroad and in arenas including poverty, mental health, and disability. Currently, he is working with SSDL research assistant Ellis Ballard in looking at the potential role of GMB in decision-making processes for a Community Based Rehabilitation Program for Persons with Disabilities in Afghanistan and for the Department of Psychiatry of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi.
