Clarissa Gaona Romero

Research Assistant

Clarissa Gaona Romero is a rising Junior at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Anthropology: Global Health and Environment. She is passionate about social justice, equity, and addressing health disparities. Clarissa plans to pursue a Master of Public Health with the Brown School, with the hopes to apply what she learns in order to work with marginalized communities and help improve health outcomes and quality of life. In the past, she has participated in Changing Systems Summits through the SSDL, regarding student-teacher relationships and the value of education at Ritenour High School,  as well as in the 2017 summit on Youth Homelessness, before co-leading as a fellow for the 2018 summit on Education Equity. In her free time, Clarissa can be found spending time with family, admiring nature, cooking/baking, or reading up on curiosities she has.
